The world is undergoing a remarkable transformation as we embrace a more sustainable and eco-conscious future. At the forefront of this revolution lies the innovation of battery manufacturing, an essential component in powering our renewable energy systems, electrifying transportation, and driving the transition towards a cleaner planet.
Battery manufacturing has witnessed extraordinary advancements, not only in terms of performance and efficiency but also in ensuring sustainability and safety throughout the production process. With a growing emphasis on environmental stewardship, manufacturers are striving to minimize their carbon footprint, reduce resource consumption, and adopt responsible practices.
It is essential, as the world moves forward in the energy transition, we understand how we can help our neighbors towards a net-zero world.
Sharing their knowledge, both Matthias Simolka, a Technical Solution Engineer at TWAICE and Johannes Rößner, the founder of BT Advisor UG have discussed:

Matthias is a Technical Solution Engineer at TWAICE where he is responsible for bridging the gap between Sales, Product, and Tech teams. He is deeply passionate about energy storage, particularly focusing on Li-ion batteries, recognizing their transformative impact on the energy transition. His enthusiasm for energy storage led him to pursue a career in academic research, dedicating several years to studying the ageing mechanisms of modern Li-ion batteries. His research involved a comprehensive approach, combining nanoscale material analysis with system-level observations to establish connections between battery behaviour and degradation mechanisms. Through his work, he made ground-breaking discoveries and gained novel insights into the behaviour of these batteries. After his academic endeavors, he transitioned into the field of Consulting, focusing on the German energy market, and specializing in renewable energies and energy storage technologies and their applications.
Johannes is the founder of BT Advisor UG. For over 10 years he has worked in the EV and ESS battery testing field. Located in Germany, Japan and China he was involved in the planning, building and ramping up of several large battery test labs. Besides internal organization and optimization of the labs, he was also in close discussion with customers to optimize their battery validation test plans, so they achieve faster validation of their developments with lower costs. Now Johannes helps customers to build and operate battery testing labs more efficiently and support battery developers to validate their developments faster.
